Looking for someone to help you host a panel? Have a topic you'd really like to see covered? Then you're at the right thread. For the time being, this will be the panel brainstorming thread. Please note that posting here doesn't sign you up to host the panel, you'll still have to contract Keefur to sign up. This thread is mainly to help people formulate their plans. ^_^

I'm going to be talking with Norv (my mate for those of you who don't know) to see what he thinks about me running a panel or two. I'm thinking a craft panel for badge making. A basic figure drawing panel would be great, too, though I'd need a model for that. Might force Norv to help with that, lol.

I've already talked with Keefur about doing a "the Beatles were the first furs" type of panel. Of course that's a working title, and I already know i'm not going to cover *just* the Beatles, but i'm gonna include various music references to anthropomorphic animals. I just know of a *lot* of Beatles references. It fits with the con's theme of "Music". Toss me other references as you think of them!

Hello. Need any help organizing these ideas and getting a schedule ready? I'm moving to the Nashville area next month and I want to get involved with this convention. I noticed that there is no Event Coordinator, and if you would let me apply, I will send my resume showing my experience in management and organization. I can help out by seeing what panel ideas people had on the Tennessee Furs Forums and contact them in concern if they want to do the panel. I want to do my part for this convention and I want to expand my organizational skills. But only if you all would accept and allow me.

Fur suiting / how to be a furry 101!

Sub title: Dos and don'ts of being a furry.

Chapter one: Keep your hands to yourself unless invited. Not everyone likes being hugged or pet, Remember to ask if they have a sign labeled " free hugs" or "Free petting" dont just jump in and do it, because some people just don't like being touched randomly by someone they don't know. However that dose not include everyone, some people are open to it, this is why you ask.

Kids: How to handle little ones who may run up to you for photos. Kids may be at this con, so if they run up to you for photos remember to keep both hands where photographer/parents can see them, if the kid wants a hug hug high around shoulders and only if parents approve the hug. You don't need a bad rep at your first con.

Chapter Two: Stay hydrated/feed. We don't need people running around without food in there belly's and water to coat there throats. Remember to drink LOTS of water and eat three healthy meals a day.
Dietary meals may include:
Fruit : to help give you natural energy from the natural sugars our Earth has to provide
Whole Grains: Wheat bread is a good Source of whole grains maybe pack a whole wheat sandwich?
small snacks for on the go: Peanuts or trail mix is a good source for energy and protein for when yo sweet off every bit of energy you may have consumed for breakfast.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day Include; fruit, grains, vitamin D B A E (Example: Bowl of reg. Cheerios and a glass of orange juice or some fruit.)

Hygiene: Please remember at the end of the day Free breeze that suit!!! and your under armor or even hand was the under armor (if you ring it out tightly it drys over night) and take a shower and brush teeth!!!

Rest: Don't stay up too late and wake up extremely early. Things like this can cause passing out , sickness and much more . We all don't want to end up sick on the second day of the con , we also all know its the funnest day. A Normal human body needs up to 8 hours of sleep to be fully rest so you are ready to party the next day!.

BE mindful of your surroundings when you have props like
Example: Otter suitor with a huge cat fish, please don't swing it around you may hit another suitor in the head

Hey there. The Schedule is being put together. As of right now we have a few of the corner stone events and are working on filling in the other items.

Most panels and events run for a time slot of one hour. But keep in mind that there is a panel after you so be ready to wrap up your panel 5 to 10 minutes early for clean up and setting the room back to the way you got it.

Try to have several others on your panel and not to try to run it alone. If you get sick at the con your panel may not happen and that makes the con attendees sad. If several are at the panel hosting it you can take turns and more then likely nothing gets for gotten.

I see there are a few posts here so I will see about replying to them in the next post.

A little about myself. Draconis. I came over to the furry fandom from the Gargoyles convention which I set up the hotel contract and set up some of the events for it also. I have been doing programming now for like 10 years (gah) currently I am doing the scheduling for Wild Nights (Oklahoma camping fur con) along with my sidekick Warnndog who assists the technical stuff. I include Bunny (webpage) in all this also only due to that he is a rabbit and will be eaten as a snack if he does not cooperate. Warner will not be likely be able to make it to the con so more on site assistance will be needed.

thats it for now. Look for a schedule to be posted sometime in the next 30 days. Not a completed schedule but a schedule.

hey Mizu. You want to do Scheduling? I welcome you aboard. Start hunting down those who want to run panels, events etc. Look at other con's schedules and see what you like and don't like. I will need some more local help and since you raised your hand that is good enough for me.

Hi Noey, Nightwolf and Noey. If you want to run something, fantastic.

Pick a day friday or Sunday preferably as Saturday will easiest to fill with main events.

Do an outline of your panel/event so you can cover everything and not left with stumbling time working to fill. enlist help! You get to meet more people that way. Look who shows up in your audience and have them help also.

write up two desciptions. One long one if you wish for the webpage. text there is cheap. The con book text space is limited so keep it concise.

To add to Noeyfoxy's Idea, I think a panel over "Fursuiting Safety and How to be a Good Handler" would be a lovely addition. Going over how to compensate for lack of vision, the signs of dehydration in fursuiters and how handlers can catch them, tips and tricks ,ect.

Back home in NM, any outing with fursuits we would go over all of that with our handlers. And I can say it helped me out on a few occasions when my normal handler(Husband) wasn't available.

If I could manage to wrangle a room for a night, (at the moment we're planing to drive up for the day.)I'd be willing to help/team up with someone to do said panel.
